Viiiiiiiiiiinz...scusa l'intrusione..
ma ho un serio problema.
saro' breve.voglio dire.breve forse no, ma esplicita si.
Coursework - Fortran
TO BE HANDED IN BEFORE MARCH 31ST 2007
1) An automobile has a 200kW engine, and a mass of 1,500 kg. Assuming air resistance produces a force of 0.5 ( velocity) 2 N, write a program to calculate the time taken to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h and calculate top speed. Given the actual top speed was measured at 150 km/h recalculate the drag due to air resistance. Explain any assumptions you make and include them as comments in the Fortran source file. Plot a graph of speed against time.
NOTE:- you must first obtain the equation of motion of the automobile, as a second order differential equation. The solution is a matter of converting this into a finite difference equation, then use Newton-Ralphson to solve numerically.
2) A piston of mass 150g moves in a cylinder and is connected to a connecting rod 200 long. The big end of the connecting rod is connected to a crank of radius 50 mm. Assuming the crank shaft rotates at 1000 rpm write a Fortran program to calculate the acceleration of the piston as a function of time. Assume the centre of gravity of the connecting rod is 2/3 from the little end and 1/3 from the big end. Modify your Fortran program to calculate the acceleration of the connecting rod as a function of time. Resolve the c of g acceleration into two components one along the length of the connecting rod and the other perpendicular to the rod. Assume the connecting rod has a mass of 250 g estimate the tensile ( or compressive ) forces in the connecting rod and the shear force at right angles to the rod.
NOTE:- This is a question about INERTIA forces. First find the x,y postion of the piston as a function of time ( use the COSINE rule to solve the piston – crank- connecting rod triangle ) Once the position of big and little end is known, as a function of time the c of g is easily found. The velocity is found from the finite difference of the position, and the acceleration is found from the finite difference of the velocity. If we know the accelerations and the mass we can estimate the forces. ( F= ma)
capito?

Purtroppo il Fortran è un linguaggio da matematici/fisici, più che da ingegneri informatici; io non ti posso aiutare e sinceramente non conosco chi possa farlo, mi dispiace. _________________ Let the future tell the truth and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. Citazione: | you must first obtain the equation of motion of the automobile |

Proprio in questi giorni è morto l'inventore del Fortran: http://punto-informatico.it/p.aspx?id=1932482&r=PI _________________ Let the future tell the truth and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I really worked, is mine.
